We went for a lovely Sunday lunch here, it was definitely good value for money, but the service was quite slow.

Stayed with my family last week a fairly large group. The staff went above and beyond. Chef Richard cooked a wonderful meal for us all, and we had the whole dining room to ourselves. Morgan made us feel very welcome nothing was too much of an ask. The rooms are clean and tidy but could do with abit of a revamp. Just small details that would make the maypole a 5 star place. Continental breakfast constantly being replenished. Thankyou to all the staff

We decided to go the The Maypole for my farthers 70th birthday for a meal. We managed to book a table at short notice for 11 of us with no problems. The place is very clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very nice. The chef was willing to cook something from another menu for our children but the children opted to try the Sunday dinners from the menu. The price was really good. We will definitely go again Thank you *I've not seen the rooms so not given a rating for this*

Our room here was very nice, clean and modern and staff were friendly. However, the breakfast area was quite dirty, we could not find any clean mugs for coffee, and the restaurant floors had food left on them from the night before (we assume it was from then as there were peas and vegetables on the floor)

Great price, location was brill for a wedding we were attending nearby. One of our rooms had no blind over the glass door leading to an early wake up, rooms were very hot also

My family and I stayed here for a few nights. The only thing we were disappointed by was the breakfast, but the TV was also tiny. There isn’t much there for breaky and a lot of what was available was not fresh (prepackaged). The only thing that was warm were sausages. It was very much help yourself, do it yourself. Which is fine I suppose, but I had to fiddle with the Microwave to work out how to use it so my elderly grandparents had no chance of ever figuring it out. Of course if you were stuck you could try to find any staff who were about to help though. Also only one side of the toaster worked, which wasn’t great (4 slice). I also wish there were less things you had to reach down for as it’s not a simple task for elderly folks. Lastly, I was told that the tea could be disappointing and I wasn’t keen on my coffee (which we all made ourselves). It would have been nice to have some syrup and things, some hot chocolate powder too. But that being said the food we had for dinner there was very nice and we were all happy with our rooms (though one of us not so much happy with the smoker in the room next to them, but that’s of no fault to any of the staff here).

We just ate here when a nearby pub restaurant had an hours long wait for Sunday lunch. We searched for an alternative and landed at the Maypole. The restaurant exceeded our expectations massively. The quality, range of choice, and level of presentation were all astonishingly high. Coupled with the affordable price (two meals for 20 pounds) we were very impressed. The in restaurant service was warm and efficient. One note: the signs point the customer to a side entrance but apparently the staff prefer one to enter near the reception. I expect this place will be packed in the near future. It deserves to be.
